Regular Season Round 3: Langhus - Tromso 40-78

Very significant was Tromso's (#8) 38-point road victory against bottom-ranked Langhus IL 78-40. The game without a history. Tromso led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Langhus IL to just 6 points in first and fourth quarters. Tromso forced 22 Langhus IL turnovers and outrebounded Langhus IL 45-24 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Danish forward Morten Sahlertz (198-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Brad Byerson (201-85, college: Virginia Union) accounted for 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Byerson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. Center Gisle Klubnes (202-84) came up with 8 points and 6 rebounds and guard Emari O'Garrow (190-78) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Langhus IL in the defeat. Tromso (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Ammerud Bskt. It was Langhus IL's third loss in a row. Newly promoted Langhus IL still closes the standings with three games lost. Tromso will play against league's second-placed Asker Aliens on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Langhus IL will play against the league's second-placed Asker Aliens (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
