Regular Season Round 17: Araraquara - America 89-103

An interesting game took place in Araraquara where higher ranked Araraquara (6-5) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked America (3-10) 103-89. It looked good early as Araraquara took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then America had a 30-19 second period charge getting the lead and Araraquara was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-103. America made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Araraquara only scored ten points from the stripe. America players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Araraquara was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Cassio Leal (198-88) nailed 30 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Alex Matheus (-85) accounted for 27 points.
