Regular Season Round 2: Hoganas - Eos 92-80

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Hoganas and bottom-ranked IK Eos had identical 0-1 record. This time Hoganas used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Lund 92-80 on Friday night. The game without a history. Hoganas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hoganas forced 20 IK Eos turnovers and outrebounded them 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. IK Eos were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Dwight Bankhead Bankhead (181-83) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Nerijus Strazdauskas (198-84) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Daniel Gustafsson (197-90) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and guard Adnan Karovic (187-88) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Hoganas went down to sixth position (South) due to points difference, which they share with Helsingborg. Loser IK Eos still closes the standings with two games lost. Hoganas will face Sanda Basket (#12) in Huskvarna in the next round where they are favorite. IK Eos will play on the road against Hogsbo (#10) in Goteborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
