Regular Season Round 1: Toyota A. - JX Sunflowers 68-63

There was no surprise in Nagoya where 8th ranked JX Sunflowers (1-1) were defeated by first ranked Toyota Antelopes (1-1) 68-63. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. JX Sunflowers were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 41-32 second half run of Toyota Antelopes. International guard Maya Kawahara (167-87) nailed 33 points (!!!) for the winning side and the former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Yaeko Terada (176-88) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for JX Sunflowers in the defeat. Four JX Sunflowers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Toyota Antelopes went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with defeated JX Sunflowers. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
