The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Nitra as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (SKP Banska Bystrica) loss. Nitra defeated bottom-ranked Vahostav-Zilina at home 84-73. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Nitra. Vahostav-Zilina was better in third quarter 26-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Nitra won last quarter 20-10.
