Regular Season Round 1: Handlova - Prievidza 68-71

We should not miss anothera road victory of leader Prievidza (1-0) over much higher ranked Handlova (0-1) 71-68. Handlova was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Handlova took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then Prievidza had a 19-16 second period charge getting the lead and Handlova was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-71. Bermudas-British swingman Sullivan Phillips (198-79, college: Wash.Adventist, agency: Interperformances) fired 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. British swingman Paul Guede (195-87, college: Portland St.) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Anthony Jones (194-84, college: Indiana Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Croatian power forward Ivan Barisic (201-84) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side.
