Regular Season Round 2: Solna Branten - Hogsbo 51-42

Date: October 1, 2011
Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Hogsbo (0-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Solna Branten (2-0) 51-42 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Solna Branten dominated on the defensive end, holding Hogsbo to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 20 Hogsbo turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Niklas Larsson (196-94) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Joakim Svensson (184-87) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Oscar Johansson (-91) produced 8 points and 11 rebounds and forward Anton Bergang (200-93) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Solna Branten keeps a position of South leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Hogsbo still closes the standings with two games lost. Solna Branten will face Nassjo (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hogsbo will play against IK Eos (#8) in Lund and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
