Bottom-ranked XV/Cosan managed to get a third victory. This time they won against twelfth-ranked Americana 76-60. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference proves that XV/Cosan was well-prepared to that game. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when XV/Cosan's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-14 extending their advantage to 16 points. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for forward Caio Ranches (192-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Luciano Machado (198-85) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side forward Ricardo Gaspar (202-84) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Everton Moraes (196-87) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. XV/Cosan (3-9) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with defeated Americana. Americana lost fifth consecutive game. XV/Cosan will play against higher ranked Jacarei (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Americana will play against Gremio Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes and hopes to get back on the winning track.
