Very important is a road loss of third ranked Namika Lahti (1-1) against tenth ranked Salon Vilpas (1-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Namika Lahti was defeated by Salon Vilpas in a tough game in Salon 67-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Namika Lahti won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Namika Lahti 44-23 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Junior Hairston (203-84, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) chipped in 17 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Forward Keena Young (198-85, college: BYU) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Steven Wright (191-83, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Court Side) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Namika Lahti players scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with ToPo and Namika Lahti. Salon Vilpas will play against league's leader Joensuun Kataja on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Namika Lahti will play against UU-Korihait (#10) in Uusikaupunki to get more than just one victory in their record.
