There was a minor upset in Mar del Plata where 6th ranked Club 9 (1-3) was defeated by eighth ranked Quilmes MP (1-3) 72-61 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Quilmes MP. Club 9 was better in fourth quarter 22-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quilmes MP dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Club 9's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American guard Phillip McHopson (188-87, college: Idaho) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and American forward Britton Johnsen (208-79, college: Utah, agency: Priority Sports) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Jazwin Cowan (205-83, college: Hampton, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and forward Martin Melo (197-82) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Quilmes MP left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Club 9. Quilmes MP will face league's leader Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
