Regular Season Round 1: Tochigi Brex - Mitsubishi DD 83-74

Rather predictable result when second ranked Tochigi Brex (1-1) won against at home 6th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (1-1) 83-74 on Saturday. Mitsubishi Dolphins were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-19 charge of Tochigi Brex, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The former international swingman Ken Takeda (188-78) contributed with 7 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Tochigi Brex went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Mitsubishi Dolphins. Tochigi Brex will face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Fuchu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against Panasonic Trians in Osaka.
