Regular Season Round 3: Aishin AW - Niigata 47-55

Another interesting game for Airlines R. (1-2) which played in Anjo against Aishin Wings (0-3). Sixth ranked Airlines R. won 55-47. Aishin Wings were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 31-22 second half run of Airlines R.. It was a great evening for international forward Reika Takahashi (177-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Miya Maki (172-90) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Airlines R. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Hitomi Takasaki (168-86) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Aishin Wings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Airlines R. maintains sixth place with 1-2 record. It was Aishin Wings' third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. Airlines R. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aishin Wings will play again on the road against Airlines R. (#6) in Tokyo and hope to get finally their first victory.
