There was a small surprise when leader Sendai 89ers (2-0) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (0-2) 77-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Iwate Big Bulls was better in second period 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sendai 89ers made 7 blocks. American players dominated also this game. It was a very good performance for forward Oneal Mims (208-83, college: Angelo St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Johnny Dukes (203-84, college: San Bernardino CC) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Despite that victory Sendai 89ers went down to first position due to points difference. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
