There was a minor upset in Stadrbredimus where higher ranked Musel Pikes (1-2) was defeated by tenth ranked Sparta (1-2) 58-46. It looked good early as Musel Pikes took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sparta had a 21-3 second period charge getting the lead and Musel Pikes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 46-58. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Musel Pikes to just 3 points in second quarter. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tennessee Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Kasey Ulin (184-82, college: Dickinson St.) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) came up with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocks and the former international guard Guy Schmit (187-80) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Musel Pikes in the defeat. Sparta left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Musel Pikes. Sparta's next round opponent will be BBC Nitia (#8) in Bettembourg.
