Date: October 9, 2011
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Heffingen and bottom-ranked Telstar had identical 0-2 record. This time Heffingen used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Hesperange 75-63. The game was mostly controlled by Heffingen. Telstar was better in fourth quarter 22-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Heffingen forced 25 Telstar turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Tressa Beckel (182, college: Chicago St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. Swingman Vicky Greischer (165-92) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Telstar's coach Paul Medernach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Heffingen (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Amicale and T71 Dudelange. It was Telstar's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with three games lost. Heffingen's next round opponent will be league's leader Basket Esch at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
