Regular Season Round 1: Aishin SH - Toshiba BT 78-74

No shocking result in a game when leader Aishin Sea Horses (2-0) beat bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders (0-2) in Kariya 78-74 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Toshiba Thunders won fourth quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. It was a very good performance for the former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. American forward Anthony Richardson (201-83, college: Florida St., agency: TSS Management) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Shohei Kikuchi (190-85) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Four Aishin Sea Horses and five Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first place with 2-0 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Loser Toshiba Thunders still closes the standings with two games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers in Osaka.
