Regular Season Round 6: Lanus - Boca Jrs 61-62

Date: October 9, 2011
Not a big story in a game in Buenos Aires where 5th ranked Lanus (2-4) was edged by third ranked Boca Juniors (4-2) 62-61 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Boca Juniors made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. American swingman Will Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Larry OBannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 4 steals during the contest. Four Boca Juniors players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Dream Team Management) with 26 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Italian swingman Adrian Boccia (196-82) scored 16 points. Boca Juniors moved-up to second place, which they share with Penarol and Regatas C. Loser Lanus dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Boca Juniors will face Quilmes MP (#7) in Mar del Plata in the next round where they are favorite. Lanus will play on the road against GECR Indalo in Comodoro R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
