The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Srbija's (3-0) home victory over 6th ranked Helsingborg (1-2) in Malmo 66-51 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Srbija. Helsingborg was better in third quarter 15-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Srbija won last quarter 18-5. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Helsingborg to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Srbija forced 26 Helsingborg turnovers. Helsingborg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Ted Cedermarker (182-79) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. FYR Macedonian forward Todorce Petkovski (200-80) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Bosnian forward Srdjan Vukovic (197-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and forward Manfred Bernborg (194-91) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Helsingborg. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Srbija have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of South leader, which they share with Brahe Basket and Nassjo. Loser Helsingborg dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Srbija will face Sanda Basket (#10) in Huskvarna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Helsingborg will play at home against Hogsbo in Goteborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
