Regular Season Round 3: Akropol - BG Lulea 82-67

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Akropol as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. Akropol defeated bottom-ranked BG Lulea in Spanga 82-67. The game was mostly controlled by Akropol. BG Lulea managed to win third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akropol dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to BG Lulea's 20. Akropol forced 25 BG Lulea turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Charles Carayol (186-89) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Akropol players scored in double figures. Akropol's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Johan Stenberg (189-93) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and center Arvid Isaksson (202-93) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BG Lulea. Akropol have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Blackeberg and Eagles. BG Lulea at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. BG Lulea will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Akropol will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked LF Future in Lulea.
