Regular Season Round 2: Valga - Tarvas 74-100

Another exciting game was between eighth ranked BC Rakvere and bottom-ranked Valga/CKE where BC Rakvere (1-2) crushed Valga/CKE (0-3) on the road with 26-point difference 100-74. It looked good early as Valga/CKE took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Rakvere had a 29-8 second period charge getting the lead and Valga/CKE was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-100. BC Rakvere made 29-of-38 charity shots (76.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Valga/CKE turnovers. Valga/CKE was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Latvian center Kaspars Cipruss (210-82, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four BC Rakvere players scored in double figures. BC Rakvere's coach Andreas Sober felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Latvian guard Edgars Cunda (196-84, agency: Court Side) replied with 25 points and the former international forward Ando Tagamets (200-79) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Valga/CKE. BC Rakvere left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Valga/CKE's third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
