There was a minor upset in Bahia Blanca where 4th placed Wuber-Est.Bahia (5-2) was defeated by sixth ranked Club 9 (2-6) 76-67 on Thursday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Club 9 made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Jazwin Cowan (205-83, college: Hampton, agency: Dream Team Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Martin Melo (197-82) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. Cowan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side international guard Juan Ignacio Sanchez (193-77, college: Temple) responded with 9 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals and American-Puerto Rican guard Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Alti Sport) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Despite that victory Club 9 went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Wuber-Est.Bahia dropped to the second place with two games lost. Club 9 will face league's leader Penarol in Mar del Plata in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wuber-Est.Bahia will play at home against Obras in Buenos Aires.
