A very interesting game took place in Formosa. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked La Union (2-6) to fifth ranked Libertad Sunchales (4-4) 78-75 on Friday evening. La Union was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 24-18 charge of Libertad Sunchales, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded La Union 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by La Union helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Joshua Pittman (197-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Libertad Sunchales' coach Fabio Demti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Joe Smith (193-77, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Priority Sports) answered with 25 points and forward John DeGroat (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for La Union. Five Libertad Sunchales and four La Union players scored in double figures. Libertad Sunchales moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Atenas. La Union lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Libertad Sunchales' next round opponent will be league's leader Regatas Corrientes on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Union will play against Quimsa (#3) in Santiado Estero.
