There was a surprise result when eighteenth ranked Baloncesto Leon (1-3) crushed at home higher ranked Melilla Baloncesto (2-2) 91-70 on Friday. The game without a history. Baloncesto Leon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a very good performance for American-Dominican point guard Emmanuel Quezada (188-85, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Italian power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (206-82, college: Drury) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and power forward Hector Manzano (207-80) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Melilla Baloncesto. Five Baloncesto Leon and four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Baloncesto Leon left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Melilla Baloncesto dropped to the sixth position with two games lost.
