Forward Tato Chachibaia (201-90) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Zviad Antadze (198-88, college: Monroe Coll.) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five STU players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Beqa Chikviladze (195-91) responded with 21 points and guard Konstantine Tomaradze (197-90) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. STU (1-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Samedicino-Academia still closes the standings with one game lost. STU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena MIA.
