Regular Season Round 2: Mitsubishi DD - Panasonic T. 80-78

The most exciting game of round 2 in the JBL took place in Nagoya. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Panasonic Trians (2-3) to fifth ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (2-3) 80-78 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Panasonic Trians. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 47-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Power forward Jun Uzawa (197-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Panasonic Trians. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains fifth position with 2-3 record, which they share with Panasonic T. Mitsubishi Dolphins is looking forward to face higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#4) in Saporro in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panasonic Trians' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Osaka Hitachi Sunrockers.
