Regular Season Round 2: Saitama Bron. - Yokohama BC 71-81

Very predictable result when second ranked Yokohama (2-2) won against on the road 9th ranked Saitama Broncos (1-1) 81-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Yokohama. Saitama Broncos was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Marcus Simmons (198-88, college: USC) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Yokohama players scored in double figures. Forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Court Side) added 17 points in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Despite that victory Yokohama went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Loser Saitama Broncos dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. Yokohama will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play again against Yokohama (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
