Everything could happen in Bereldange at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Residence and 9th ranked Musel Pikes had identical 1-2 record. This time Residence used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Stadrbredimus 70-57 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Residence. Musel Pikes managed to win fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Residence outrebounded Musel Pikes 42-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Isl. Forward Jerome Gumbs (194-82, college: USF) who added 15 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Residence players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tennessee Tech) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Residence (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sparta. Loser Musel Pikes dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Soleuvre and BBC Nitia. Residence will meet Sparta (#6) in the next round. Musel Pikes will play against the league's second-placed Basket Esch.
