Undefeated leader Meccanica NB delivered the third consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 12th ranked Muggia (1-2) 63-55 in Bologna. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Muggia won third quarter 8-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meccanica NB forced 29 Muggia turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Eleonora Costi (180-83) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Valeria Zanoli (170-84) helped adding 23 points and 4 assists. Meccanica NB's coach Luigi Piatti used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Lara Cumbat (177-88) with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and guard Jessica Cergol (180-85) scored 16 points. Meccanica NB have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 3-0 record, which they share with Vigarano. Newly promoted Muggia dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Meccanica NB will meet Alghero (#4) on the road in the next round.
