There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Canberra Capitals (0-3) were defeated at home by top-ranked Townsville Fire (3-0) 72-60 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 38-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was international guard Rachael Flanagan (170-82) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds.
