Very important is a road loss of third ranked Batumi (0-1) against leader MIA (1-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Batumi was crushed by MIA in Tbilisi 101-77. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Batumi was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. MIA dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Batumi's 36. They outrebounded Batumi 43-22 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. MIA players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Robert Krepsi (184) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists. Center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. MIA's coach David Ustiashvili felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Irakli Mikeladze (179-94) answered with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Avtandil Eliashvili (200-89) added 22 points in the effort for Batumi. Five MIA and four Batumi players scored in double figures. MIA keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Batumi at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. MIA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi STU.
