Regular Season Round 5: Fujitsu RW - Aishin AW 70-57

Undefeated leader Fujitsu RW delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Aishin Wings (1-4) 70-57 in Kawasaki. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Aishin Wings was better in third quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fujitsu RW won last quarter 17-6. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aishin Wings to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Fujitsu RW had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) nailed 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Rui Machida (161-93) accounted for 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Koizumi Haruka (164-89) came up with 16 points and power forward Kumi Yamamoto (179-85) added 13 points respectively for Aishin Wings in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujitsu RW (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Aishin Wings at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Fujitsu RW's next round opponent will be again Aishin Wings (#7) in Anjo which should be theoretically an easy game.
