Very important is a road loss of second ranked JX Sunflowers (4-2) against fifth ranked Denso Iris (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting JX Sunflowers were defeated by Denso Iris in Kariya 81-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of JX Sunflowers. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. JX Sunflowers managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Denso Iris made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The former international guard Akiko Obata (165-81) stepped up and scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners and international center Maki Takada (183-89) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Oh Okami (170-82) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. JX Sunflowers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Denso Iris moved-up to fourth place.
