Undefeated Akita Happinets (1-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were rolled over by seventh ranked Oita Heat Devils (1-1) 82-50. The game without a history. Oita Heat Devils led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Naoto Takushi (182-81) accounted for 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. Dutch-American power forward Stanley Ocitti (203-80, college: Binghamton) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Kenny Taylor (192-82, college: Texas) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Akita Happinets in the defeat. Oita Heat Devils left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Akita Happinets. Oita Heat Devils will play against Shiga L-Stars (#4) on the road in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Iwate Big Bulls to get more than just one victory in their record.
