The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated MarcoPoloShop.it (1-1) in Forli on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by twelfth ranked Assi Ostuni (1-2) 80-79. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-17. But MarcoPoloShop.it won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Assi Ostuni made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) who saved his team from a defeat with 26 points. Israeli-American center Dane Diliegro (205-88, college: New Hampshire) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Austin Freeman (190-89, college: Georgetown) answered with 29 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American guard Roman Nardi (186-85, college: Villanova) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for MarcoPoloShop.it. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Assi Ostuni left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. MarcoPoloShop.it at the other side dropped to the eighth position with one game lost. Assi Ostuni is looking forward to face Morpho Basket (#10) in Piacenza in the next round. MarcoPoloShop.it will play on the road against Sigma Barcellona and is hoping to win this game.
