Not a big story in a game in Mikawa where 7th ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (1-3) was defeated by leader Chiba Jets (2-0) 82-73 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 30-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Maurice Hargrow (193-83, college: Minnesota) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) helped adding 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Chiba Jets keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Defending champion Hamamatsu Phoenix dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Chiba Jets will face Yokohama (#4) in the next round. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against the league's second-placed Sendai 89ers (#2).
