Date: October 16, 2011
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Akropol (3-1) in Spanga on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by LF Future (4-0) 59-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Akropol. It was a key game for the top position in North as both teams had the same 3-0 record before this meeting. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 59-52. LF Future dominated on the defensive end, holding Akropol to just 5 points in second quarter. The winners were led by American guard Brian Curry (185-86) who scored that evening 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and naturalized Iraqi forward Samir Ali Hussein (198-92) supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. LF Future's coach Jim Enbom used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds by forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) did not help to save the game for Akropol. Guard Samuel Mukooza (192-89) added 6 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. LF Future have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader, which they share with Eagles and Taby. Loser Akropol dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Blackeberg. LF Future will meet at home Taby Basket (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Akropol will play against KFUM Uppsala and hope to secure a win.
