Regular Season Round 3: Miyazaki SS - Shimane SM 78-83

Rather predictable result when leader Shimane Magic (2-0) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (0-2) 83-78 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Miyazaki Shining Suns' 34. They outrebounded Miyazaki Shining Suns 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) scored 16 points. Five Shimane Magic and four Miyazaki Shining Suns players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Miyazaki Shining Suns still closes the standings with two games lost. Shimane Magic will face Takamatsu FA (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play against Fukuoka Rizing and look forward to get finally their first victory.
