Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Valur (0-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Stjarnan (2-0) 96-78 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Stjarnan. Valur managed to win second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stjarnan forced 21 Valur turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin Shouse (180-81, college: Mercyhurst) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Stjarnan keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Valur still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Stjarnan will meet Haukar (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valur will play against Keflavik.
