Regular Season Round 2: Ironi Nahariya - Lev Hasharon 83-77
Date: October 18, 2011
Very expected game when bottom-ranked Lev Hasharon (0-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Ironi Nahariya (1-0) 83-77. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But Lev Hasharon won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Nahariya made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Lev Hasharon turnovers. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina) notched 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Eric Traimel (201-88, college: N.Texas) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Prossin Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Lev Hasharon. Naturalized American power forward Isaac Rosefelt (205-85, college: St.Thomas, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 19 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the guests. Ironi Nahariya left bottom position moving up to sixth place. Lev Hasharon at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Ironi Nahariya will play against higher ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lev Hasharon will play against Ironi Ramat Gan (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
