The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#2) and TTU/Kalev (#5). Kalev/Cramo (2-0) crushed visiting TTU/Kalev (1-2) by 29 points 92-63. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-63. Kalev/Cramo dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TTU/Kalev's 28. Kalev/Cramo forced 20 TTU/Kalev turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Bulgarian center Nikolay Varbanov (209-85, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). International guard Gert Dorbek (194-85) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Kalev/Cramo's coach Aivar Kuusmaa felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) answered with 14 points and 5 assists and American center Andrew Arnold (208-86, college: Lewis-Clark) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for TTU/Kalev. Defending champion maintains second place with 2-0 record having 2 victories less than leader Tartu Ulikool. TTU/Kalev at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Tarvas and Tln Kalev. Kalev/Cramo are looking forward to face Rapla (#4) at home in the next round. TTU/Kalev will play against KK Parnu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
