Rather expected game in Buenos Aires where 8th ranked Quilmes MP (2-7) was defeated by sixth ranked Lanus (4-5) 100-89 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Lanus. Quilmes MP was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Dream Team Management) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Italian-Paraguayan forward Bruno Zanotti (197-82, college: Merrimack) chipped in 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was naturalized American guard Phillip McHopson (188-87, college: Idaho) with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Nicolas Ferreyra (185-85) scored 25 points and 4 steals (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Four Lanus and five Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. Lanus moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Olimpico LB and Atenas. Quilmes MP lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Lanus will face again Quilmes MP (#8) in Mar del Plata in the next round.
