Regular Season Round 7: Kouvot - KTP 72-75

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Korisliiga took place in Kouvola. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Kouvot (3-3) to seventh ranked KTP-Basket (3-3) 75-72 in the game for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kouvot. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-72. KTP-Basket outrebounded Kouvot 44-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian guard Bojan Sarcevic (190-88) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists. American swingman Terrell Bell (198-89, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Bell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Josh Gonner (188-82, college: S.Carolina) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Antoine Jordan (196-83, college: Siena) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kouvot. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KTP-Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Kouvot. KTP-Basket is looking forward to face Salon Vilpas (#9) at home in the next round. Kouvot will play against Loimaan Korikonkarit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
