Regular Season Round 3: Tochigi Brex - Aishin SH 53-93
Date: October 22, 2011
Rather predictable result when third ranked Aishin Sea Horses (5-2) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Tochigi Brex (0-6) 93-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aishin Sea Horses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Hashimoto Ryoma (178-88) helped adding 13 points. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Lamar Rice (203-82, college: Georgetown, KY) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) scored 4 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 5-2 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Tochigi Brex lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Panasonic Trians (#6) in Osaka in the next round. Tochigi Brex will play on the road against the league's second-placed Hitachi Sunrockers in Osaka and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
