Another exciting game was played in Limerick between second ranked UCC Demons and one of their biggest challengers UL Eagles where UCC Demons (2-2) beat UL Eagles (1-3) on the road 72-58. UCC Demons players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by UL Eagles' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shawn Atupem (200-89, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Niall Murphy (180-86) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American forward Johnnie Jefferson (193, college: New England U.) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: Augusta St., agency: JEMsports) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UL Eagles. UCC Demons maintains second position with 2-2 record behind leader 11890 Killester, which they share with UCD Marian. UL Eagles at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. UCC Demons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UL Eagles will play on the road against UCD Marian in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
