Regular Season Round 5: BG Lulea - Taby 84-104

Bottom-ranked BG Lulea is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Taby Basket (5-1) 104-84 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Taby Basket. BG Lulea was better in second period 30-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Taby Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to BG Lulea's 38. They outrebounded BG Lulea 50-30 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taby Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. BG Lulea was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Mikael Banks (191-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Frank Nordin contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Four Taby Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Robin Sandberg (194-93) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Johan Stenberg (189-93) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BG Lulea. BG Lulea's coach Matthias Kentta let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Taby Basket. They moved-up to second place in North. BG Lulea lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Taby Basket will have a break next round. BG Lulea will play at home against White Eagles (#3) in Stockholm and hopes to get finally their first victory.
