There was no surprise when 9th ranked Nysa Klodzko (2-3) lost to third ranked BM Wegiel Stal (4-1) in Kloszko 70-83 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-70. BM Wegiel Stal shot 64.6 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Nysa Klodzko turnovers. It was a great shooting night for BM Wegiel Stal especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. Guard Marcin Kalowski (191-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Guard Mariusz Matczak (180-86) contributed with 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five BM Wegiel Stal players scored in double figures. point guard Michal Lipinski (184-86) answered with 12 points and 6 assists and forward Marcin Sterenga (201-78) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nysa Klodzko. Nysa Klodzko's coach Tomasz Wlodowski let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BM Wegiel Stal have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Slask II W. and Pogon Prudnik. Loser Nysa Klodzko keeps the ninth place with three games lost. BM Wegiel Stal will face UMKS Piotrc. (#14) in Piotrkow in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Nysa Klodzko will play on the road against AZS AGH Alstom (#10) in Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
