There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Matera (1-5) won against on the road second-best Trento (3-3) 96-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. Matera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Matera forced 21 Trento turnovers and had a 40-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Trento was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Gianni Cantagalli (196-88, agency: Players Group) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Andrea LaGioia (194-86, agency: Players Group) chipped in 22 points and 11 rebounds during the contest.
