No shocking result in a game in Souffel. where fourth ranked Souffelweyersheim (4-1) defeated 15th ranked Angers BC 49 (1-4) 68-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Souffelweyersheim. Angers BC 49 was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Angers BC 49 to just 7 points in first quarter. Souffelweyersheim dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Angers BC 49's 30. They outrebounded Angers BC 49 40-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. Souffelweyersheim's coach Stephane Eberlin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward SyPir Traore (204-85) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Olivier Sulpice (192-77) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Souffelweyersheim. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Cognac and Charleville. Loser Angers BC 49 keeps the fifteenth position with four games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face bottom-ranked Montbrison (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Angers BC 49 will play against Le Puy ASMB in Le Puy en Velay.
