The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Slask II W. (4-1) in Katowice on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked AZS AWF K-ce (3-2) 81-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Slask II W.. AZS AWF K-ce forced 31 Slask II W. turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS AWF K-ce made 17 blocks. Guard Pawel Jurczynski (186-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points. Guard Marcin Ecka (184-78) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. The former international power forward Miroslaw Lopatka (213-77, agency: Promotex) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and guard Artur Grygiel (187-88) added 22 points and 4 steals in the effort for Slask II W.Slask II W.'s coach Grzegorz Krzak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS AWF K-ce moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Slask II W. still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with BM Wegiel Stal and Pogon Prudnik. AZS AWF K-ce is looking forward to face Alba Chorzow (#6) on the road in the next round. Slask II W. will play against HK Zory (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
