Regular Season Round 4: Miyazaki SS - Fukuoka Rizing 72-78

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Fukuoka Rizing and bottom-ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns had identical 0-2 record. But Miyazaki Shining Suns were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Fukuoka 78-72 on Saturday night. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-16. But Miyazaki Shining Suns won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fukuoka Rizing shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M - C.C., agency: VVG Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Center Darryl Dora (206-85, college: Texas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Fukuoka Rizing (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Miyazaki Shining Suns' third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing (#6) and hope to get finally their first victory.
